In Togo’s market gardens, celery is mostly grown for its leaves. Leaf celery has thin stems and a strong, fresh aroma, and a few sprigs are enough to season a whole pot of sauce, soup or rice. It is the celery used in West African and Asian cooking. We also offer stalk celery, the thick, crunchy celery familiar in Canadian stores, in limited volumes during the cooler months.
- Leaf celery: bunches of about 150 g, harvested young and very fragrant. Shipped by air freight.
- Stalk celery: trimmed heads of about 500 g. Kept at 0 °C it stays crisp for 4 to 6 weeks, so it travels by refrigerated container. Limited volumes, availability confirmed on request.
How we supply it:
- Lined boxes of 5 kg or 10 kg, or by the pallet of 200 kg (40 × 5 kg boxes).
- Cooled right after harvest and kept at 0–4 °C with high humidity.
Use it in soups, stocks, stews, stir-fries, juices and salads. Every lot is traceable to the farm.
