Leeks like cool weather, which is rare in Togo. Our partner growers plant them for the few dry, cooler months of the harmattan season, from November to February, so volumes are limited and we recommend booking your order in advance.
As the plants grow, the growers pile soil around the stems. This keeps light away and gives the long, tender white shaft that cooks love. At harvest the leeks are lifted, trimmed, washed and packed.
How we supply them:
- Two sizes, about 250 g and 400 g per leek.
- Packed in lined boxes of 10 kg or 20 kg, or by the pallet of 400 kg (40 × 10 kg boxes).
- Kept at 0–1 °C and high humidity, where leeks stay fresh for 2 to 3 months, so they travel well by refrigerated container.
Use them in soups, quiches, braises, gratins and stocks. Every lot is traceable to the farm.
Volumes are small, so check availability with us before the season starts.
