Potatoes need cool nights, and Togo grows very few of them. The potatoes sold in Lomé come mainly from the dry-season farms of Burkina Faso, in the Sahel, where cooler winter months suit the crop. We source from that same supply chain and consolidate the potatoes in Lomé, so you can add them to the same container as your yams, onions and tropical produce. We say so clearly, because origin matters to your customers.
Two types:
- Yellow potato: yellow flesh, all-purpose, good for boiling, mashing, fries and stews.
- Red potato: red skin and firm, waxy flesh that holds its shape, good in salads, roasted, or boiled whole.
How we supply them:
- Tubers of about 150 g, sorted and cleaned.
- Packed in 25 kg or 50 kg sacks, or by the pallet of 1 tonne (40 × 25 kg).
- Stored in the dark and shipped by refrigerated container at 7–10 °C.
Each lot ships with its certificate of origin and phytosanitary certificate.
