Green bell peppers are picked before they ripen, when the fruit has reached full size but not yet changed colour. That gives them their crisp texture and their fresh, slightly bitter, grassy taste, and it is also why they cost less than red or yellow peppers: the plant spends fewer weeks on each fruit.
Our partner growers in Togo harvest them in the dry season and sort them by size, shape and wall thickness.
How we supply them:
- Two sizes, about 150 g and 200 g per pepper.
- Three lot formats: basket (20 kg), crate (50 kg) and pallet (200 kg), in ventilated cartons.
- Kept at 7–10 °C. Peppers stay fresh 2 to 3 weeks, so we ship them by air freight.
A workhorse for stir-fries, fajitas, stews, pizzas, sauces and stuffed peppers, and the best-value pepper for food service. Every lot is traceable to the farm.
Red, green and yellow peppers can go in the same order.
