Shipping & Logistics Policy

This policy is a general reference and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel or finalized against DIKOBIO’s actual freight and customs-broker agreements. It should be confirmed against those agreements before being relied on as binding.

Overview

DIKOBIO coordinates shipment of wholesale agricultural and food products from Togo/West Africa to Canadian businesses. This policy explains, at a general level, how that logistics process works. It is informational and does not replace the specific shipping terms confirmed in your order quotation.

Shipping methods

Products move by sea freight (typically 25–45 days transit) or air freight (typically 1–3 days transit), depending on the product, its perishability, and cost considerations. The applicable method is confirmed at quotation stage. Refrigerated containers are used where cold-chain handling is required.

Lead times

Total lead time includes sourcing/consolidation at origin, packaging, export documentation, transit, Canadian import processing, and final delivery. Estimated lead times are provided with each quotation but are not guaranteed, as they depend on supplier readiness, carrier schedules, customs processing, and factors outside DIKOBIO’s control.

Packaging

Products are packed in commercial formats appropriate to the product and shipping method — crates, baskets, boxes, sacks, bunches, or pallets — using ISPM-15 compliant pallets and vented or insulated packaging for export where applicable.

Customs, duties, and importer responsibility

Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, the buyer is responsible for import customs clearance, applicable duties, taxes, and compliance with Canadian import requirements for the specific product. DIKOBIO can assist with documentation and coordination but does not act as the importer of record unless separately agreed.

Tracking and communication

Buyers are kept informed of shipment status at key milestones (dispatch, in-transit, arrival) where tracking information is available from the carrier or logistics partner involved.

Delays

Transit times and logistics estimates vary according to origin, product type, temperature requirements, transportation mode, customs processes, carrier schedules, and destination. DIKOBIO will communicate known delays as soon as it becomes aware of them but is not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, or other third parties.

Damage or loss in transit

Claims for damage or loss occurring in transit are handled according to the terms of the applicable freight carrier and any cargo insurance in place for the shipment. Buyers should report any visible damage at the point of delivery and retain packaging and photographic evidence.
