Green onions grow all year in the irrigated market gardens around Lomé. Our partner growers pull them early in the morning, trim the roots, wash them, tie them into neat bunches and move them straight into the cold room. Speed matters: a green onion that stays warm loses its crunch and its tops go limp within a day.
How we supply them:
- Two bunch sizes: about 100 g and 150 g.
- Packed in lined boxes of 5 kg or 10 kg, or by the pallet of 300 kg (60 × 5 kg boxes).
- Kept at 0–4 °C and high humidity. At 0 °C they keep 2 to 4 weeks, but only about a week at 5 °C, so we ship them by air freight.
Their mild, fresh onion flavour works raw or cooked: sprinkled on soups and rice, in salads and salsas, stir-fries, marinades and grilled dishes. Every lot is traceable to the farm.
For a weekly supply, write to us and we will plan the flights with you.
