Purpose of this disclaimer
DIKOBIO sources agricultural, food, and selected animal products from Togo and West Africa for professional Canadian buyers. Canadian import of food and agricultural products is regulated, and requirements vary significantly by product. This page explains, in general terms, how DIKOBIO approaches that reality. It is informational and is not legal or regulatory advice.
Listing does not mean approval
The presence of a product on dikobio.com, in our catalogue, or in a quotation does not mean that product is currently approved, licensed, or admissible for import into Canada. Import eligibility depends on the specific product, its country and region of origin, its processing status, the destination province, the importer’s own registrations, and the specific shipment’s documentation.
Areas that may require verification
Depending on the product, a shipment may involve requirements related to: product admissibility; country and establishment of origin; supplier or facility eligibility; food safety requirements; plant-health (phytosanitary) requirements; animal-health and veterinary requirements; labelling (including bilingual French/English requirements); packaging; traceability; customs classification and duties; import licensing; and the importer’s own regulatory responsibilities under the Safe Food for Canadians Act and related CFIA requirements.
Meat and animal products
For whole-animal and poultry products in particular, import eligibility, CFIA-approved processing establishment status, veterinary certification, and Canadian admissibility must be confirmed before any commercial shipment. These products are not available for direct online purchase; all enquiries go through our Request Pricing / Request Quote process specifically so these requirements can be reviewed before a shipment is arranged.
DIKOBIO's role

DIKOBIO does not act as a customs broker, does not guarantee regulatory approval of any product, and does not guarantee customs clearance. Buyers and importers remain responsible for ensuring applicable Canadian import requirements are satisfied before shipment, and DIKOBIO recommends buyers with specific regulatory questions consult the CFIA, CBSA, or a qualified trade compliance professional.
