Groundnuts are grown in every region of Togo, from the Savanes in the north to the Maritime region on the coast, with around 45,000 tonnes harvested each year on some 60,000 hectares. They are the base of West African peanut soup and stews, roasted snacks, peanut butter and kuli-kuli.
Two forms:
- In-shell: whole dried pods, for roasting, boiling and retail.
- Shelled kernels: hand-sorted kernels with broken, discoloured and shrivelled nuts removed, for roasters, peanut butter makers and food processors.
Food safety: groundnuts can develop aflatoxins if they are badly dried or stored. Ours are sun-dried quickly after harvest, sorted, stored in hermetic bags, and every lot is laboratory-tested against Canada’s limit of 15 ppb total aflatoxins. The certificate of analysis ships with the lot.
How we supply them:
- Packed in new sacks of 25 kg or 50 kg, or by the pallet of 1 tonne (20 × 50 kg).
- Stored dry and shipped by sea freight in dry containers.
We can send a sample and the latest lot analysis.
