These eggs come from local hens, the same slow-growing breed as our poulet bicyclette, raised outdoors by small farmers who let them scratch for seeds, insects and kitchen scraps. A local hen lays far fewer eggs than a commercial layer, and they are smaller, with cream to light-brown shells and a darker yolk. Many customers ask for them by name and are willing to pay more for them.
How we supply them:
- Eggs of about 35–45 g, ungraded, as they come from the farms.
- Packed on trays of 30 eggs, or by the carton of 10 trays (300 eggs).
- Collected from many small farms, so every lot is candled to remove cracked, old or fertilised eggs before packing.
- Kept cool (10–15 °C) and delivered by refrigerated truck.
- Minimum order: 5 trays. Village production is small and drops in the dry season, so we confirm available volumes before each delivery.
Where we deliver: this product is sold and delivered in West Africa only (WAEMU countries), priced in FCFA. It is sourced from poultry farmers in the delivery country and is not exported to Canada.
