Roma, or plum, tomatoes are the backbone of West African cooking. Oval and firm, with thick flesh, little juice and few seeds, they cook down into rich, deep-red sauces and stews and they also suit canning, salsas and dried tomatoes. Our growers in the Savanes region and around Lomé use varieties such as Roma VF and Tropimech.
How we supply them:
- Fruits of about 60 g, harvested at the mature-green to breaker stage.
- Three lot formats: basket (20 kg), crate (50 kg) and pallet (200 kg), in ventilated crates.
- Shipped at 12–15 °C by refrigerated container, ripening on the way.
Every lot is traceable to the farm.
