Charentais is the classic melon of south-west France: round, about the size of a large grapefruit, with a smooth pale rind marked by faint green stripes. Cut one open and you get bright orange flesh, very juicy and strongly fragrant. Our partner growers in southern Togo raise them in the dry season without synthetic pesticides and pick them as the rind starts to turn creamy, when aroma and sugar peak.
How we supply them:
- Two unit sizes, about 0.8 kg and 1.2 kg per fruit.
- Three lot formats: basket (20 kg), crate (50 kg) and pallet (200 kg), packed in single layers with protective liners.
- Forced-air pre-cooled after harvest and shipped at 4–7 °C in refrigerated containers.
- Brix, firmness and internal colour checks available on request before shipment.
Because Charentais is so aromatic, a little goes a long way: chefs use it for starters with cured ham, desserts and sorbets, and fine grocers sell it by the piece. Every lot is traceable to the farm.
Order by the pallet, or write to us for a container load. We confirm volumes before each harvest.
